Ulrich G. Hofer gained his MSc in Biology from the University of Bern in 1990 and PhD from the University of Neuchâtel in 1999. Since 2000 he has been Lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ, Department of Environmental Sciences) and at the Universities of Basel and Bern (Integrative Biology), where he is also supervising Master and PhD students. In parallel, following two years as a Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Manager of Surgical Instrument Systems (SIS Ltd.), Dr. Hofer co-founded the company Integrated Scientific Services (ISS AG) in 2003, a consulting company in the high-tech healthcare industry. Within ISS AG he is Head of the Division of Regulatory Affairs with overall responsibility for clinical evaluation and statistical analyses. From 2004 to 2007 Dr. Hofer lectured on statistical applications in the high tech healthcare industry and data management for healthcare professionals at the University of Applied Sciences of Bern. In 2007 he started teaching Fundamentals of Regulatory Affairs and Patents at the University of Bern (Master of Biomedical Engineering).
