André Weber studied physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). After his studies, he focused on deposition and characterization of thin film semiconductors at the Institute for Solid State Physics at ETH. In 1994, he received his Dr. sc. nat. from ETH. He started his professional career at ABB where he worked in the area of high-power semiconductors and held different positions in product development and sales. In 2002, he joined Stratec Medical as a product manager in trauma development. Over the past years, he worked on techniques of internal and external fixation. One of his main interests is fixation in osteoporotic bone. Today, he is principal engineer in trauma development at DePuy Synthes.
