He studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Concepcion, Chile, where he also obtained a Master of Science with specialization in mixed-signal design of VLSI circuits and neural networks. During 2007-2012 he worked as part-time professor at the University of Concepcion and as group leader in a Chilean project in the area of biomedical engineering at the same university. In 2016, he obtained his Ph.D. degree at the University of Bern, Switzerland, on the topic of effective human machine interfaces for medical image analysis. Since 2016, he has been a post-doctoral researcher between Inselspital and ISTB. His research area focuses on medical software design oriented to clinical application and medical diagnosis, specifically on the development of auto- and semi-automatic correction techniques with the goal of improving the quality of the segmentation algorithm by minimizing and optimizing the information provided by the user.
