Raphael Sznitman received his Bachelors of Science in cognitive systems from the University of British Columbia (Canada) in 2007. He then joined the Computational Interactions and Robotics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University (USA) where he received his Masters and PhD in Computer Science in 2011. From 2011 to 2014, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) in the computer vision laboratory. In 2014, he became the Group Head for the Ophthalmic Technology Laboratory of the ARTORG Center at the University of Bern. His research interests are primarily in computational vision, probabilistic methods and statistical learning, applied to applications in Ophthalmology and biomedical imaging.
