BME day with live open heart surgery

On Friday, May 8th, we had the great pleasure to welcome you to the 17th annual Biomedical Engineering Day. The highlight of the day was the live open heart surgery performed by Florian Schönhoff, Department of Heart Surgery, University Hospital Bern (Inselspital) and moderated by Selim Mosbahi. Further, the event offered medical technology companies a plattform to introduce themselves and inspire our students about potential future career opportunities. Alongside company representatives, the ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research and the Bern University of Applied Sciences, a partner within the Master's program, used the opportunity to present their current research projects, including some exceptional Master and PhD Thesises from the AIM and BME program. In addition to the company and research presentations the audience could follow a MedTech Discussion about the evaluation of the Master's Progam in Biomedical Engineering, hosting several executives in the medical technology industry.

We are already looking forward to next years BME Day, hosted on the 20th and 21st of May.
